Vaka Pasifika

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a keyboard, screen reader or other assistive technology.

Using this website

This statement applies to the Vaka Pasifika website. It does not apply to other websites we link to.

We designed and built this website to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. We have not had an independent accessibility audit, so this page is not a formal claim of full conformance.

What we have done

The website includes:

  • a skip link to jump to the main content
  • pages that can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline
  • headings, landmarks and control names that describe their purpose
  • colour contrast chosen to meet AA for text and interface components
  • layouts that reflow on a small screen and when you zoom
  • buttons and links sized for touch
  • alternative text for meaningful images, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology
  • forms with visible labels, required-field indicators and error messages
  • Cloudflare Turnstile on forms instead of a visual CAPTCHA
  • reduced motion when your device or browser asks for it
  • an On this page list that stays collapsed on small screens so the page content comes first

Reporting a barrier

If you find something that is hard to use, we want to know. Email us and include:

  • the web address of the page
  • what you were trying to do
  • what went wrong
  • the browser, device or assistive technology you were using, if you know it

Email info@vakapasifika.org.nz. You can also call us on 021 0290 0701.

We will use your report to fix problems where we can.

Technical information

WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the accessibility target for this website.

Some parts of the site depend on other organisations. Form spam protection is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile. Office location links can open Google Maps in a new tab.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 26 August 2026. We will update it when we make changes that affect accessibility, or when we complete further testing.
